数学思维课 Level 2 评估 (Readiness Evaluation)

About Course

This readiness evaluation consists of 4 continuous tests of students’ understanding and problem-solving skills across 6 fundamental areas: algebra, geometry, statistics, number theory, counting and probability, and logic. 

Students shall complete the tests in order as it helps to see how their capabilities progress with the sublevels (A, B, C, D). 

Each test includes between 20 – 25 questions, and a score of 70% and above is considered ready for this sublevel.  

Note: These tests are only used as references to certain areas of your current knowledge and skills, a more comprehensive evaluation could be provided after a more inclusive evaluation process.

Course Content

Diagnostic Test – 2A
Before starting level 2A, you are expected to be able to: 1) counts more than 100, 2) do simple skip counting, 3) know basic shapes, 4) add and subtract numbers within 30, 5) solve simple word problems.

  • 2A

Diagnostic Test – 2B
Before starting level 2B, you are expected to: 1) be familar with plave value, number lines and comparing symbols, 2) be able to add 2-digit and 3-digit numbers using place values and other methods (not stacking).

Diagnostic Test – 2C
Before starting level 2C, you are expected to: 1) understand basics for addition, subtraction, parentheses and symbols, 2) be able to use some problem solving strategies, such as guess-and-check, working backwards, and drawing out.

Diagnostic Test – 2D
Before starting level 2D, you are expected to: 1) understand how to measure and compute some lengths, 2) use place values to do addition and subtraction, 3)recognize patterns and select the best problem solving methods for yourself.
